At the main entrance, we had to pay an entrance fee of 115Y (student discount) while Cherry and Se Young also had to pay 80Y more for a cable car ticket. They didn't like the idea of hiking all the way up the western (front) path with their back packs. Sherpa's carry up to 130 lbs. of stuff to the hotels/hostels on the mountain. Max of 2 trips in a day. When he was walking his calf was HUGE!

Welcoming Pine in the background. There were way too many tourists in this area (only 1 hour from the cable car)! We didn't even contemplate trying to fight through the pushy and sweaty mass just for a picture. We came to Huangshan for nature large-scale human interaction!
