28th Feb-
The next morning we were up and onto another bus, all of the way i had an annoying kid behind kicking the chair, eventhough i had turned round a few time to show it was quite annoying his dad didnt look bothered and continued to hold him kicking my chair and smiling! arrrgghh!
Finally a break and we had a toilet stop. There was also some food to buy, deep fried tarantula anyone! most of the group tried it and said it just tastes like bbq sauce....they felt horrible and i think insects count as being a meat so that was my excuse for not trying them!
Back on the bus for a few hours and we got to out the mekong hotel in kampong cham. Emma and i had a nap and then most of the group went on a pedal bike tour of the area. Heather, leonie and i decided to give this a miss and do it on tuk tuks instead. Much better! It was too hot to go on a bike for hours and we got to see much more! We saw man hill with some monkeys and woman hill, which was up 217 steps, which we ran half way- much more fun! On our way to another sight we saw 3 weddings in progress, so many weddings around it was strange! We then got to a local house and walked down to the lotus flower field, next to a rice field. we got introduced to a guy working on the rice field. he had a hard job, working from 5am-7pm with only 15 mins break! our tuk tuk guy was brill, he acted as a tour guide and translator, well worth the $3! Had a look around the beautiful lotus flower field and then back on the tuk tuk to see the bamboo brisge. The bamboo bridge is built every year to gain acess to the island. As there is so much rain it gets washed away then they have to build it again.

That night we all met for dinner in a fab restaurant, not much else to do in the 3rd biggest city in cambodia so we all went to bed.
