so we flew over to cambodia to continue on the madness and thats what we got, we stayed in the faulty towers guesthouse of phnom penh( capital) first night siobhan and pamela stayed in what can only be described as the smallest sauna in the world or as we referred to it the jesus room and elaine slept with bert. bert is a lizard who likes to follow us around on our journeys more about him later. and our rooms were so stylish and small that we showered over the toilet if that aint class i dont know what is!!!! we were stayin in this little backpaker village which can only be described as a really long alley way in which you get offered drugs at every turn especially siobhan cause she looks like a junkie anyway! the day after we arrived had a nap which lasted until 2 so only had time to go see the killing fields (the longest tuk tuk ride ever!) then got back to faulty towers which was run by about 5 14 year olds who all sleep in the reception and a guy came running down the stairs because their was an electrical fire in his room smoke everywhere but it was only small and they dealt with it but that night we went out with some guys we met from london to this sweatbox of a club called the heart or darkness met loads in there and had a ball but when we got back to faulty towers there had been a flood and the whole floor was covered in water downstairs so a fire and a flood in the space of a day such is our luck so all in all the place was a dive but a funny one at that.
then we were catching a 6 hour bus to siem riep which is up north, last ones getting on cause our mini bus broke down but of course. after that glorious journey we arrived in a beautiful hostel which was clean comfortable and even had a pool. we went out that night and made friends with a guy from england who was working there called sunny got a little tipsy to say the least headed to another place to play the worse games of pool ever the old hand eye coordination was not at its best by now and met loads of randomers including a cambodian who knew the words to dirty old town. we drank mai thais all night even got some bought for us and bloody well paid for it the next day especially siobhan!!! and we had to go out in the blazing heat and visit all the temples around (the ones out of tomb raider) and climb about a million of the steepest steps in the world all which had a warning climb at your own risk hmmmm safety first, headed out that night to the bar where sunny worked and we all went for food in this bar that just happened to be owned by the cambodian guy that knows the words to dirty old town, needless to stay food and drinks were free all night baby. went to this bar called ankor what? where we met another cambodian wearing a dublin jersey who could hold a good conversation as gaeilge with us it was hilarious he said we were go hailin obviously he knows his shit. then all was going well until our cambodian friend who was paying for all got way way to drunk and started doing elicit things with his tongue to glass 3 times cause he kept dropping his glass and it kept splashin all over pamelas knees NICE! so we left him quick did more temples the next day and met those guys yet again but completely not on purpose so gave them the old cold shoulder. the next day we went and had massages and pedicures ah its a hard life but what you going to do!!!and went for icescream after and met the weirdest waiter in the word who kept doing stabing actions with his arm , then had one of the slowest tuk tuk drivers in the world to the airport but we made it last to check in but of course and then flew to the capital of vietnam ho chi min city aka saigon! more to come soon
