In a tuk-tuk! In a tuk-tuk! In a tuk-tuk!

Our afternoon ride in a tuk tuk, the most common form of transport! A ride only costs $2-$3, and will get you virtually anywhere in Siem Reap - its the taxi service over here!
Well! After something like 11 hours of flight all up, Sophie and I finally arrived in Cambodia, woo! Our team leader, Amy, was eagerly awaiting us at the airport, and ensured we instantly experienced the most common form of transport in Cambodia - a tuk tuk. For those that have never had the pleasure of being in Cambodia, a tuk tuk is simply a motorcycle that has a carriage at the back, where we sat! The heat is incredible here, it makes the Australian summer look pitiful! Last night we went out to dinner with Amy and her friend, Ang. We went to a delicious restaurant, which was incredibly cheap. Sophie and I both had a scrumptious meal and a massive cocktail, which only cost us $5 in total each! After this we wondered round the main town for a bit, which is actually amazing considering it is a third world country! Our accommodation, the Earthwalkers backpackers hostel, is very simple but still lovely! Our rooms are spacious, with only two in a room, and we also share a bathroom between two. We are especially lucky, with our hostel having a pool, which ishape the shape of a foot! Today, we

had breakfast at the hostel ( French toast and orange juice) and then headed into the heart of Siem Reap. We wondered through beautiful temples and were awe inspired by the magnificent monuments of Buddha! After this, we indulged in peanut butter ice cream and took a stroll through the markets. Bargaining here is fun, though some people will not budge! Currently as I type this ( slowly on my iPhone using wifi) Sophie and I are relaxing by the foot shaped pool reading our books! Already it has only been two days and I miss my family and friends... This is going to be a long six weeks, though it will be worth it! 😊
