Me at the Top
I also made it to the top and watched the kids descend to play on the hillside This two day camp was a blast! It was an amazing opportunity to get to know the students better outside the classroom. We traveled two hours from school to a camp site familiar to some of the kids. The bus ride was comparable to the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland and just as scary at times. There were many activities to keep us all busy and learn a lot about God’s magnificent creation.
“Climbing the Mountain of Life” was the theme for this year’s Middle School Camp. I was privileged to be a team leader for one of the four groups. My team, with no help from me, called themselves the “Psychotic Hitchhikers” and made up a fun cheer before the competition between the four ensued. Each team consisted of kids from all grades who were to participate as a team in many different games and skits for points throughout the two days.
We all climbed the "mountain" a short walk away and enjoyed hanging out together. I watched some of the kids slide down the embankments and really encourage each other. We went back to the camp site for hot dog roasting and Marilou, WCA principle, always remembers
View from the Top
We all made it to the top of the little hill safe and sound to bring chocolate and marshmallows from the States for S'mores. I got a kick from one newer student, "Okay, I like school now." I heard another student remark, "Today, this is the best day of my life." Fun times!
