The billionaire Bill Gates and his wife Melinda founded the "Bill and Melinda Gates Fund" in 1994. This organization's main goal is to help address global issues and not just issues in a specific area, but around the world. For example, issues that are being supported at the moment are Malaria issues throughout Africa, libraries in South America, and aiding the poor in The United States. In my opinion, this organization is making a difference because it supports many global issues rather than one. However, this isn't as helpful toward every issue as other organizations may be because their area of focus is very large. I also feel that this organization is significant to the world, because it shows that not all the rich and wealthy people in the world are as heartless as the world may think.
