Well hello all. We just wanted to give you a quick update while we wait for our 14 hour bus and ferry boat to Zanzibar. Ok, actually we are at the airport waiting for our hour long flight.
We have spent the last few days in Arusha and on safari in the Ngorongoro Crater and Tarengire NP. We spent 2 days driving around the bumpy park roads and managed to see a plethora of wildlife. I won't list the birds, but in one day we managed to see 4 of the BIG 5. A half dozen lions, dozens of elephants, gazelle, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, and coolest of all....the black rhino. There are only 26 of them left in Ngorongoro and we saw a mother and a baby...very cool. We even got to stay at a wonderful farm house lodge.
When we returned to The Outpost B&B in Arusha, we were pleasantly surprised to find Mike waiting in the cafe for us. We spent the past couple of days catching up about our Tanzanian adventures and his Icelandic and are now on our way to Zanzibar!!
Sorry for the lack of pictures, but who wants to spend the time uploading them when in such beautiful surroundings? If there is reliable internet in Stone Town we will see what we can do.
Everything is great.
Love,
E & S

As much as I am NOT the outdoorsy type I so wish I was there. To see that wildlife up close must be breathtaking. I would say my favorite would probably be the lions. This trip of yours has always been a dream of mine. Though I could definitely pass on the bugs and any other LONG and slimey things (you know what I mean). Eric if you really are with Mike (never know when you are joking) PLEASE do not let him have your camera!!!!! I have to see those photos. Look forwarding to hear more stay HEALTHY, safe and happy.
Love Aunty Donna, Michelle & Nick too.
P.S. Have to say I love the way the two of you blog. Wish there were more-it is a guarantee laugh for a day.
amazing...quite the collection of animals...enjoy the bus...also, thanks for the coffee updates too!
Hi E & S
I've followed your journey on google earth. You're covering a lot of ground. Your adventures sound terrific. You're really "roughing" it with luxurious hotel and safari accomodations (hehe). Looks like you could see Zanzibar from your hotel at Dar es Salaam. It all looks fascinating. It's always good to hear from you. Your aunt Lisa asks me every day if I've heard from you and Gabrielle. I'll print your blog and bring it to her.
Enjoy your adventure !
Love you
Dad
Well glad to hear that you made it back from the latest safari. Lions, elephants and rhino oh my. The animals you saw sound amazing. We will all just have to wait to see the pics when you return. We are just spoiled from the past when we had stories and pics. Do not waste precious time uploading them.
I bet you were surprised to see Mike there. Somehow I thought he'd figure a way to hook up with you even if for a brief time. Glad you all got the chance to see each other and share your ventures and visit with one another for a while.
Enjoy Zanzibar...happy and safe travels to all of you.
Until next time
Lucille
