Buffalo Bill
This one scared us as it was so close Off at the crack of dawn for the drive out to Fairy Glen (honestly) Game reserve. Which is set in the spectacular mountains about 100Km inland from the Cape coast. Our guide and mentor and in due course bodyguard was Rory. His local knowledge ensured that we got the most out of the tour thanks to a good seat in the land rover and a well-informed driver. We met all of the big 5 including real close-up with the Lions, Buffalo and Giraffes.
After a good lunch at the reserve, the opportunity to explain to the nosey couple who had been wondering why we had been given preferential treatment arose. I explained that Rory was a South African Government appointed Bodyguard and he was looking after us for the day. We left them suitably puzzled and headed on our way to tour the vineyards.
We set off to the Paarl and Stellenbosch region and after many glasses we bought a few bottles. It was a real shame as we found some really fantastic wines at exceptionally good prices, however when you added the cost of shipping it was no bargain at all so its all got to be
Resting rhino
these buggers could do a lot of dammage if they wanted to drunk before we leave (what a shame) hope you enjoy the pics
