Thought we would spend our last day of the year keeping busy as we are used to! Today we took on the adventure of a lifetime I got James to give up his odd feelings about public transport and we went on a open top bus tour of the city.
It was slightly longer than we had anticipated but nevertheless it is a great way to acclimatise yourself with the geography of the City. Feeling like we were on a role here and being a little braver we bought a ticket to travel the otheher side of the peninsular by local train to Simonstown. A quiet sleepy town that is where the Navel Base is situated although there are 1st 2nd and 3rd class carriages we found it hard to tell the difference.
Just got back in time for quick shower and change of clothes before heading out for our New Year celebrations. Suffice to say that a good meal, music and a great company, a cut leg (and know idea how I got it) all made for very fulfilling end to the year. Managed to talk
to my family (Bless you all) on a very poor connection. So Happy New year to you all. Thanks for your messages we sat reading them by the pool this afternoon in the blazing Cape sun.

Happy new year again to you both :) It looks amazing there! Is it at all similar to west Africa in any way? The weather looks really nice - soak it up and enjoy. x
