These days...the mood is bright..i must say i am full of joy and feeling quite good right now. this has been a good weekend, some work came along.. followed
by a nice relaxing Sunday braai and all around lazy afternoon..we had a few more days of rainy weather..wasnt so nice and my walks into town
did not provide any nice photo opportunities.. I do want to take some good shots of the path way through the bush, past the dam, with the sounds
of beautiful brightly coloured birds in the trees.. the ruffling of the bushes by mysterious and quick monkeys.. the weather was wonderful today
and i hope it stays this way for awhile.. i will get some good photos taken if the weather allows , this upcoming week.. i have yet to get a jol
back out to the game park in Ashburton that that auto garage resides on- hoping to soon.. i know people want to see photos of the beautiful
zebra and giraffe..plural. i did get some good photos of Andres' bead artwork that i mentioned before.. i really enjoy a lot of his pieces..and if
i could afford it, i would buy the crucifixion piece for my dearest Mom.

These days...had some nice sweet corn, baked beans, beetroot salad, chips, and some spicy chakalaka.. also Neils' home jarred pickled chilis and onions..
i guess i am a braai side specialist..haha.. i avoid the sausages and pork chops..

I have an amazing girl back in Tejas that brightens my day with her phone calls.. and I long to see her smile.. I miss you babe.

these days, I see an amazing sense of unity and beauty in South Africa today.. simple things have really lifted me.. and it makes me proud of this
country and its' people.. aside from the corruption in government, which is definitely there..and yes those who can think can see that
the ANC has much over stayed its' welcome as the ruling party in this country.. yes in the spirit of Madiba, in the spirit of the past.. please
please move aside..make room for true change.. shameless plug, go Democratic Alliance!! --- so amongst this.. aside from this.. today
a few simple, some would say trivial things- i see true change and unity and hope for this amazing amazing amazing country that i have
deep love for.. all of these ceremonies on TV , preparing for the World Cup- the energy, the unity and excitement..it is thrilling I must
say.. the new film, Invictus, from the wonderful Clint Eastwood- I truly think it is going to revive that beautiful spirit of the 1995 Rugby World
Cup in which the Springboks, South Africa's powerful and brilliant national team, after finally being allowed back in the international
sports arena- after years of isolation based on the world's boycotting of the unjust Apartheid system- claimed victory!! The cup was
handed over by Mandela himself and a nation, scared and unsure about its' future, was united.. in a way most around the world said
would be impossible.. please go see the film. and tonight, the Miss South Africa ceremony, to see women of all different cultures representing
this great nation, standing up and declaring their pride and belief in South Africa.. followed only by a very exciting musical tattoo special with
the South African military and navy bands.. performing classic Kwela songs, township jive and more ... all done in a different and
interesting style.. along with a lifting performance of the national anthem, Nkosi Sikelele Afrika. great indeed. I never thought i would hear
Meadowlands performed by the navy band.. a classic song of protest..done magically. So yes South Africa can do it and I am happy to see
it first hand.
take care...
