Finally on South African soil
Finally touched down on African soil, it's 0450. Passport check and customs very easy. I had to declare 'medicines of addiction' and thankfully a medical letter was sufficient.

After packing important items in our hideaway bags we proceeded to the Fornos Bakery as per Aunty Pauline's suggestion. However, as we rounded the corner we were overcome by the sight of the Wimpy Bar! Man alive it's been 30 years since we had a burger at the Wimpy Bar in Rustenberg. The red colors and mustard sauce all bring bak memories. I loved our sausage dog lunch with mustard sauce after church in Sundays followed by a chocolate milkshake.

I was left there with the luggage after we ordered breakfast while Maria and Peigi went in search of sim cards for their iPads. I for one loved being immersed in vague familiarity. Unfortunately, when the Rooibos tea arrived my nasal passages were remiss of the lovely aroma. Bloomin' sick passenger. Anyway, my taste buds have not let me down, an acquired taste, slightly sweet and nutty in flavour. 6 cups later and I'm hooked again. The benefits of taking it black is that the antioxidants have a chance to work.

Food memories relived
A thoroughly enjoyable drink.

The toast was served with olg engligh orange marmalade! Wow. A long time since I tasted this amazing blend of oranges and lemons. One bite and memories come flooding in of breakfasts before school at home.

We had 4 hours to fill in before Uncle Dave and Aunty Paugliness were to arrive. It's went quickly as we each ended up purchasing a sim for our iPads. We found post cards for family, completed these and mailed them off. We decided at about 0820 that we better head to the Fornos Bakery in case we were missed. We were invited to sit by very friendly staff and decided to have another drink, this time I had a Chai Tae but my sisters stuck to the Rooibos tea lol.

Uncle Dave rocks up at 0830 a whole hour before we really were expecting him. So we sat down for drinks and a scone before heading off towards Rustenberg.
