Day 2 of half term and a receive a text inviting us to an afternoon soiree, A mini adventure as not been to H's place before,so we set off , fortuitously finding the newbies are behind us (that's the Seychelles for you) - and they know where they're going but then they disappear from the rear view mirror. The phone rings and they tell us that we should have turned off by the building with the blue roof - we'd been told red ho hum. Follow the newbies, both cars climb up a very steep hill to find it's the wrong one so have to reverse back down again much to the other one's chagrin (I'm thinking if we do this overseas school thing again, perhaps we go to the Netherlands, v flat). Well, I do have to apologize to all as I was away for awhile..been busy with flying and yeah now I have sometime off to write it down again!! Let start with story about 2 years ago! I will start with my first flight and layover ever I have done in my flying carreer!! TXL (Berlin) We were accually really got excitting about the first month roster we have got! and that what I have got on the first flight follow by SEY which is Seychelles back to back means I m flying there for 3 days and come back to base and flying there again and stay for another 3 days!! Conveniently, the closest location from India where we had family or friends with whom to celebrate Christmas and ring in the New Year was...the Seychelles. An opportunity not to be missed when you've got friends who have just moved there. So, to the Seychelles we went. The Seychelles Islands are comprised of numerous islands and atolls in the middle of the Indian Ocean, north of Madagascar and east of continental Africa. Settled by the French and taken over by the English, we were expecting a combination of fish and chips with our croissants et fromage. Instead, the islands were a mixture of English, French and African Creole with a distinctly Caribbean feel. We left Praslin early Monday morning on the Cat Cocos catamaran. The seas were rough, breaking over the starboard and drenching some of the passengers. We had been kindly told by the crew before we left harbour to move to the port side. Mahe is the biggest of the Seychelles islands, and we arrived in the world's supposedly smallest capital, Victoria, in glorious weather. Our cab took us from the port to Glasis and the Hilton Northolme Resort. This was Janet's birthday present, so we were staying in an Oceanview Villa. What a great resort and what a stunning room.
