Tangiers

We made straight for a Hammam as soon as our train arrived into Tangiers this morning. It was part of the "Wellness Centre" in a posh hotel, El Minzah, where we could happily have paid vast amounts for lots of lovely sounding treatments. But we opted for cleanliness above all else, and felt great as we wandered around the town after three washes and a good scrub.

We have seen enough medinas now, so after realising that, we decided to walk along
the seafront to try (in vain) to get a view of Europe. We had a great excuse to return to the El Minzah poolside and sit in the shade for a while, "looking for our books" which we had left behind earlier.

Tangiers feels quite European in comparison with many places we've visited in the past couple of weeks, and we find we are rather looking forward to two days of creature comforts on our Grandi Navi Veloci boat to Genoa, which leaves this evening.
