IMAGES OF MALI...UP THE NIGER IN A LEAKY BOAT We piled onto our pinasse near Mopti...5 men lifted the back & pushed us off...into the middle of the Niger...then the sound & sight of water rushing at our feet...yikes "We are sinking!!!!" From "Here 2 Timbuktu"...our intrepid leader...on a riverbank with G & Ts assures me he will make our Tuareg wedding happen at Timbuktu...only Guy could pull that together...eternally grateful

Met him in Mopti, Begnimato, Dourou, Dire, captured him & held him hostage on the Niger... then at Timbuktu & danced with him at the Festival of the Desert... happy times...

Travelled through Mauritania with Guy to join us... in the perfect place for her to reflect on life's nuances...on the roof of our pinasse ... soon to be our bridesmaid

With the Dogon Passport... allowed one to pass through Dogon Country...with up to 4 wives !!!

The eyes have it...& her infectious laugh... had a bet with Guy that she would not speak for the first day on the pinasse...and she won the bet!!!... soon to be our flower girl

Our guide from Bamako to Timbuktu...orders our wedding outfits be made in Timbuktu..& one for him of course..."Yes Hamma ...you are No. 1"
