Glimpse of the Red Sea from my "patio."
El Quseir

Nice place. Right on the Red Sea. Across that sea is Saudi Arabia. We’re in Egypt. That’s in Africa. We’re a short boat trip from Arabia. All this probably won’t sink in until three weeks after we’re home.

I’ve been internet deprived and even though the brochure said wireless access, not. So forget that, Kim and I are heading to the pool.

We did have a relaxing day. I, of course, wanted a massage, but my leg is still too swollen. Last night I only slept a couple of hours because I couldn’t get comfortable. Didn’t know what to do with my leg. Felt like a zillion fire ants were munching on it. Huuurrrrtttt!!! Put the leg up. Nope. Put the leg down. Nope. Can’t lay on side or tummy. Can’t sleep on back. Miserable.

Our day went like this: breakfast, pool, chaise, pool, snack, pool, chaise, short walk, chaise. Rich finally joined us in the afternoon. We took a walk down to the beach so we could put our feet into the Red Sea. Rich swam a bit, and he convinced me to at least get in up to my knee. Watched the sun

Nice pool, but we thought it would be heated. It was cold!
go down, took pics, back to the room, shower and then dinner. Back to the room and then pack for the morning travel to airport and then head to home. The pictures of this beautiful speak more than my words. Enjoy!

The next day:

Ride to the airport was good. Nice driver and tour leader. Rich did such a great job with engaging all our drivers and leaders while Kim and I vegged out. And thanks to Rich again for taking care of all the tipping. And there was a lot!!!!

Our tour leader handed us off at the airport to Erby. Erby was a cutie. We had some time to talk before our plane departed. Erby’s going to Florida to college next year. He is soooo excited, and he in turn made us excited for him.

We arrived in London on the evening of November 11. We met a nice couple in the airport in Cairo. Kim and Rich took them under their wing and helped them through the London airport, changing money and getting on the correct bus to their hotel. Sort of a “pay it forward” because we had such great help negotiating

through Egypt. A nice way to end a fabulous journey.

This travel blog about Egypt has almost ended. Although there are no impending “journeys” there are lots of trips, so looks like the rest of the year will be busy.
