Karnak Temple, Luxor, Egypt
Visited Karnak Temple for a couple of hours in the morning before we were due to leave Luxor. The temple & surrounding area was just such an amazing thing to see. It is quite an awesome structure to have survived this long & I am sure would have been an even more spectacular sight in it´s heyday. It is just such a pity so many ancient relics have been built upon & are now probably lost forever.

Caught our local bus mid morning, which thankfully wasn´t actually very local at all. It had all it´s windows, comfy seats, a clean floor & even curtains! It was a six hour drive to Hurgada on the Red Sea & we cabed it to the hotel & rested for an hour or so before dinner. We ate pizza at a local resturant recommended by Sam, then headed out to do a spot of shopping. I purchased an A4 size papyrus picture of a Scarab beetle, which is just the most amazing shade of blue - I love it. Shopping over, Sam, Jan, Doug, dad & I went to a pub called Nirvana & played darts & drank beer for the rest of the

evening. Returned to the hotel a bit tipsy, thinking we´d had a good night out (which we had), only to discover it was only just after ten o´clock...
