Another glorious day of blue sky sunny weather on Sunday. I concluded the best place for us to be were some lovely gardens rather than perhaps too busy beach areas with famililes taking advantage of the sunshine. So we headed for Rosemoor RHS Gardens. A real delight. So different from the wild gardens of the day before. These with lots of formal areas but also swathes of wild flowers with narrow mown paths down. Had a really lovely walk and managed to only buy one plant in the superb plant shop before we left. Had to include more than one photo of the magnificent peacock who so very kindly put on a full twirling display for us. Here we are in North Devon. Third holiday of the year as we now work on a do it while you can basis. We are staying just above Woolacombe at Warcombe Farm Camping Park. Super pitch, all hooked up to water and drainage (and just through a sneaky little gap in the hedge to the very superior toilet block behind ). We Can see the sea from the pitch though the road to it is steep and narrow. We discovered that yesterday when the satnav missed the turn to the campsite and we took the 'secondary route' back to the campsite from the bottom of the hill in Woolacombe. If you ever chance to stay here I strongly recommend that you turn round rather than attempt that other little road up from Woolacombe. All I can ... read more

Larnaka today. We took the motorway to get there, very easy and all the major roads are really good. Our only 'road' problem is the tiny scale of our tourist maps which don't necessarily show when a road is unpaved. We try to avoid those. Satnav handily took us to a free big parking area behind the Marina. The one we meant to go to was charged so well done to the Satnav. Larnaka beach is beautifully sandy and about a mile long with a promenade with eating places liningall along the back. We chose the sea route and paddled all the way to the centre. Super day today with some beautiful Cypriot scenery and a gorgeous village, Lefkara. Then a monastery, Agios Minas.My nose will forever be filled with the scent of the lemon trees which pervaded the village followed by oranges at the monastery and glorious flowers everywhere. I did get berated by the lady in the Lefkara church for wearing shorts and not covering my legs with the skirtsprovided ...( Which I didn't see as I went to the right and they were in the middle ). Bob's bare legs were acceptable.And the sound of the bees in the monastery was amazing.. they were swarming into a hole in one of the buildings. Easy 10am flight on the 10th April from East Midlands Airport via Jet2 to Larnaca. Our pickup there turned out to be a private taxi as there was only the two of us to go West to Limassol. It seems most people went East, direction of Aya Napa. Very pleasant to have a taxi to ourselves and straight there with no other dropoffs on the way. We are staying at the lovely Atlantic Miramare Hotel. It's on the beach. We have a superior sea view room, extra big and a stunning view round the bay and across the sea from our balcony. No hire car until tomorrow but all organised for one to be delivered to the hotel tomorrow morning. We are as always only booked bed and breakfast as we plan to eat out everynight ... read more
