Had to put this in...CM wore socks for the first time on the trip today. At home in summer you will see me in skirts and sandals daily. Wearing socks again not only feels totally foreign, but marks my resignation that is is finally fall. Sigh. Luckily there will be more sandal weather ahead on this trip!

So this post isn't totally without merit, we should mention that everything you've heard about the Spanish eating late is true. We would find restaurants empty at even 8PM. One place that was recommended to us for lunch, we showed up at Noon. The sign on the door said they were open from 1:15 to 4 and from 8:30 to 11:45! The streets are very busy even until 1AM on a work night. We aren't quite sure how it's done, but it seems that people really do go home for a 2 hour siesta in the middle of the day, and start their day around 9am and leave around 7 or 8pm.

Finally, a place with my kind of schedule! Sure wish we could do that in California.

Feeling California...
Spain definitely feels a lot like California. I can see why the Spanish worked so hard at keeping Mexico and California. I too would totally love the Spanish schedule, and it's good to know that there's a place where I wouldn't be considered a lazy outcast with my sleep patterns!
