WOW WOW WOW WOW! Yes its amazing, eveything we hoped it would be. Lovely hotel with pool, flat screen tv,dvd the works and was cheaper than a hostel, how mad is that! As soon as we got here, the heat hit us, has been the hottest two days ever on record for October at 36 degrees, the weather man obviously knew we were coming. Its boiling. The first night we walked into Cockle Bay Wharf. High rise buildings sky scrapers such is Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ersnt and Young etc. We ate on the harbour which was really romantic when it got dark. The next day we went to book our bridge climb and got shots of the city, opera house and Sydney Harbour bridge. We also booked our transport up the east coast, byron bay, steve irwins zoo, Brisbane, Fraser Island, Whitsundays and up to Cairns. We were shocked to find that flights into Alice Springs are over 300 pound, we were planning on doing that, however now we may do a three day camping trip..I know! us with the spiders and snakes. We made a trip to the fomous Sydney Fish market, see pics, Eloise you wnated me to try
lobster, havent had it yet but I got a pic of some! The Opera house was just like the pics you have all seen so many times, although Steve thought it was smaller than he imagined, although we are yet to actually take photos up close from the steps, those pics are to come when we return to Sydney and the end of our trip in Oz. We got the ferry over to "The Rocks" and the main harbour which was brill with views and photo opportunity. The next day we did the climb, more extremist activity and god is that Bridge high. It was Steves must do, so I had to join him! We climbed at 7.45am to avoid the heat but it was still baking hot. We were kitted out with harness, radio, hats, boiler suits the whole chabbang, and we looked sexy! We had a great climbing instructor called Mel, who was so funny and made it even more enjoyable. Was a three hour climb, but the views were incredible. We were not allowed cameras so we bought them, here is one we bought, see pics. We were told that they are already preparing the fireworks for New
Years eve! Amandas legs were shaking after and she doesnt like heights so found it a challenge, but was happy with herself after. Today after the climb, we cant walk! No lie, we didnt stretch so our calf muscles are in agony. But we managed to get up and do the famous Sydney Aquarium, it was lovely, many beautiful fish, seals, crocs, platypus(only found in Oz and so cute! mammals that have beaks!)eels, sharks, turtles, stingray,NEMO! and so much more. Hope you like the pics, the place was of a large scale and took over two hours to get round. Early start in morning as we leave for the East Coast, our friends we met in Fiji have bought a house in Brisbane and they have asked us to meet up so thats where we are heading tomorrow.
Make sure you see the pic of Steve all ozzed up, I grabbed an ozzy hat, koala teddy, kangaroo, platypus (on his head) and a boomerang! hilarious!
