Tahoe tour

Lake Tahoe is shared between NV and CA. A very popular resort in summer and a ski resort in winter. The lake appears crystal clear and beautifully blue. However it is a fact that each year it gets less clear due to the influx of vacationers and developers, this is a sad reflection of our society.
Most shops, campgrounds, etc. close at the end of September. We enjoyed not having lots of tourists, as we walked around the lake and little towns. Actually it is “glitzy” and the word “hunky-tonk” comes to mind. It is obviously a very affluent area in some respects, but …
We noticed a bike trail Sunday and decided to get out of the Bothan and bike!! The bike trails are great!! We biked to Squaw Valley Ski Resort, of the 1960 Olympics. After following signs to a worship service we stopped at a Squaw Valley Chapel and met some very hospitable folks.
We stayed at Quincy Campground for the evening and biked into town.
