Auckland
Auckland So, 24 hours later and I amde it, deyhdrated, weak and dying to pee in Auckland. Auckland is a strange city, it is almost exactly like Toronto only smaller. Ways in which it is like Toronto: they have the Sky Tower, which is a smaller version of the CN Tower, Queen Street is one of thier major streets and the street on the water front is called Quay Street. Auckland was a pretty cool place to be in but I quickly realized that there was no point in living there as it was so much like Toronto, minus the good cheap ethnic food, and the companionship of my friends and family. While there I went to a brief free city touer with Kiwi Experience, which involved walking under a bridge, eating fish and chips (fairly good British ones better), and visiting a volcano. The scenery was beautiful, Auckland is known as the city of sails, and in accordance with that was filled with ships, and blue seas. There was a very nice club next to the hostel and a couple Canadian girls from Winnipeg and I went iout for a couple drinks. New Zealand beer is quite nice, although rather lighter
than expected.

First a technical thing. You wrote this on Oct6 but it's email notice arrived Oct 14th? Wow, I thought the photo WAS Toronto! I can see why you decided to move on. Still, there is some comfort in familiar type surroundings, especially after such a long journey. Apart from fish and chips, how is the food situation? Finding good stuff at reasonable prices? I know the Kiwi fruit is cheap(good job, you were always partial to them), but how about protien sources and vegitables? Anything on the job front?
