Val was awake at 6 am to watch the stunning scenery of Romsdal Fjord approaching Andalsnes.
The dawn sky and the mountains were a visual delight.
Britannia anchored in Andalsnes and we were surrounded by magnificent mountains.
A very peaceful place even with lots of tourists.
Andalsnes has amazing temperature variations from 30 plus c in summer to minus 30 c in winter.
Lots of light in the summer months and almost always dark in winter.
In the afternoon we went on the Rauma railway a major feat of Civil engineering and one of Norways's spectacular train rides.
The railway opened in 1924 and the line follows the valley of the River Rauma.
We travelled between Bjorli and Andalsnes.
We stopped to see the Trollveggen, Europes highest perpendicular mountain wall, some beautiful waterfalls, and Romsdalshorn peak.
The Trolltindene peaks tower 1700m above sea level.
we had a wonderful smooth voyage down the fjord from Andalsnes to the open sea with outstanding scenery.
