We have been able to get away from Sydney on a side trip to Coffs Harbour and then, more recently to Melbourne, Seymour and Albury.

In the heat of the Aussie summer it was a relief to drive up into the coolness of the inland hills.

Most small country towns have a picturesque corner pub like this one where the local 'cockies' (farmers) gather while their wives do the shopping.

With every day in the 30s (90+f) we made a bee line to the pool every afternoon.

We splurged for our last night...oysters, prawns, smoked fish & focaccia...yum! Washed down with a nice Aussie white of course.

We did't even consider adding lobster to our seafood platter at this price...most get exported.

A visit to Melbourne
We have just returned from a trip that included a visit with nephew Todd & his wife Jenna at their Melbourne home.

Farm Stay
Our good friends Paul & Paddy Gunning invited us to visit their grandkids on their farm near Seymour, Victoria. Here Marlene is regaling them with stories of her childhood, growing up on a lighthouse in Lake Superior.

...was an infamous bushranger/bandit who created havoc in this neighbourhood in the late 1800's.
