war memorial from the second world warwar memorial from the second world warwar memorial from the second world war

All the graves of the workers on the railway.
Been in Bangkok for three days now and really enjoying myself.

So far i've been up to quite a bit, first day we relaxed found our bearings and went shoping, found these really cool trousers called fishermans trousers. they are so comfy and come in loads of different colours so had to get a couple of pairs.

second day after a crap nights sleep. got up at six in the morning to travel to the river kwai for the day. in the morning we saw the war memorial for the second world war. it's all the prisoners of war who died whist building burma to india railway. also saw the museum for it as well altho it was in need of a clean. round the corner you can see the kwai river and the railway bridge that runs over it. on which the death train runs, called so because in parts the track runs around the side of the cliff. and is quite scary and bumpy, the school kids thought we were a great attraction tho. we also went elephant trekking, rafting and ended the trip at lovely waterfall where we could go for a swim.

today was going to be a lazy one after yesterday but on our way to the post office one of the local informed us that it was tourist day, so this meant the buddist temple opened their doors to the tourists for free. so went to see the standing budda, lucky budda and the mount.

off to pattya tomorrow, to the elephant camp. yippie!!!
