Daly Waters
One of the dodgy buildings at Daly Waters - note the sign! We couldn't post last night as we were as we stopped in a somewhat spooky road side stop with no service. But it was the best we could do after a very long 700 k driving day again. (Robs thinking of taking up long haul truck driving after this!) We had breaky at the Daly waters historic pub. Its a very cute place! Pretty eclectic and a must see. They have some pretty big nights and would be a very popular stop over for back packers etc. (Worst coffee EVER though!). And we had a super stop over at Mataranka Hot springs later in the day. Its a magnificent place and whats more it's free to swim in the hot springs! Its well worth the stopover, the water is an average of 34 degrees and is loaded with super minerals and stuff! (sure I looked 10 years younger when I hopped out!)
Apparently we drove through 2 different bush fires too! (I slept through them as I had a headache and dosed up!) Rob just kept driving through just following the traffic. No CFA guys telling you what to do, its just hold you're breath and hope! Its getting pretty
Daly Waters
The breaky menu at Daly waters pub. Note the 'bum nuts'! hot now as we get further north. Also the terrain changed so much once we left Central Australia. The red dirt is still there but the trees and grasses are very lush and palm trees pop up every where. Its definitely the top end now!
We only had a short run into Darwin this morning. We've decided to stop here for a week at least and have a nice relax. Its a real joy to be back on the outside of Oz, near the ocean! We've been very lucky with the choice of caravan parks. Its always a bit of a gamble and all parks in Darwin are at least 10-15 mins out of the city. Its a massive place, Darwin Free Spirit Caravan park, if you're ever here, its a ripper. Not cheap though, but accommodation in Darwin isn't, simple as that. This place has 3 pools, tropical trees abound, massive amenities blocks, a pool bar, bistro etc. Oh and a jumping pillow, where are the grandkids when I need them!
We've hired a little car too, just to get the most out of the place. The Bago has done a massive job so far almost 9000

The pub is covered in signatures, thongs, money, and hats from all around the world! k's so he can sit in this lovely tropical environment, put his wheels up and rest easy!
Well that's about it for now. We did hear that the weather in Victoria has been horrendous so sorry to you all down south. I LOVE the tropical heat, humidity is the best, so hopefully others can enjoy it vicariously through the blog!

Apparently 9000ks is due for a service - just let us know what flight we are on!
