Ismael and Toro
From uruguay and argentina, these guys have been at Brunela for ages! Ismael had just broken his board and they were fixin up a new one when I took this pic Ok guys, I know a few of you have been waiting for a few of these photos so here goes...
We're staying at an amazing hostel called 'Brunela' (which is the spanish, feminine version of the name Bruce, and also the name of the leading lady in a novel written by the owner - go figure..). Since we're here for a few weeks Juan (the owner) is only charging us $4 a night, for which we get the BEST coffee in the world free every morning, a cosy room which we share with one other guy, Todd - American, (we get the whole mezzanine upstairs), free use of the surf boards and a WHOLE LOT OF FUN.
Brunela is basically a bachelor pad for surfers (mostly from argentina and uruguay at the moment) and Ali and are the only girls staying there... the token girls it seems! So they feel free to relax, play poker and surf all day. They take good care if us, and in turn we are even feeling compelled to clean up after them! (don't say a word nath!).
We are a few meters from the beach where there is a perfect surf break and views

Yes, costa rica has the indoor-outdoor flow going on that kiwis can only dream of...
of amazing sunsets.
The only bad things would be the 2am rooster wake up calls, and noises of construction beginning soon after, on extensions of the hostel. argh. But then the beach calls and we are up and ready for that coffee...
Its hard to capture the essence of Santa Teresa in words, so just look at the pics.
