I know, I know...... so many animal pictures, but I cannot help it. These guys are so amazing and don't worry, I am almost past the animal portion of my trip!
The little baby lions were incredible. They were so friendly and soft. They are white lions, which are still on the endangered species list. It was quite an experience being with the cheetah. It seemed like no problem before I went in but there in something instinctive that tells you that maybe you should not be in there with her. She was amazing though. I was glad it was so hot and she just wanted to sleep. The very cool thing is that she started purring when I pet her and you could feel the vibration in your hand. I can very well say that I may never experience the feeling of a cheetah purring again, oh, until Namibia - but after that probably not.
Anyways, that strange looking little animal is a pygmy hippo. They are actually very dangerous, they can kill a human. Humphrey is very friendly though. Even though today was an amazing experience, I cannot wait to see all these wild animals in their
own habitat on the Serengetti although I will not be petting them there. So I guess this is the happy medium, at least I got to touch them all.
The baby lions were priceless.
