Hi All, Thanks for so many great messages. Yes we are writing these together nanny and pops! This is definately an experience and we hope you all like the photos that we have uploaded.
Firstly, you will never believe that we are both using factor 50 (emergency purchase) as its boiling over here, the first day Amanda wore a strappy top with a large shell necklace, she burnt and has the marks to prove and is very sore with a full white moon on her chest! Which she is not happy about.
4th Sept - DisneyLand - Ok this was fantastic we had a great day and as Amanda has never even been to America it was unforgettable. We saw Belle, the Beast, Pinocchio, Ariel, Snow White and many more. The parade was immense and the rides were great. It was very hot especially in the queues, however, it was nothing like the queues that we have in England, the longest we waited was 45 mins.
5th Sept - Hollywood - Beverly Hills,Rodeo Drive, Manns Chinese Theatre, Walk of Fame, Farmers market. Venice Beach again! yay! This day was like nothing else. The pic support this. Seeing the
Hollywood sign really made it real and also seeing Rodeo drive. And of course Amanda had another sing song outside the Manns Chinese Theatre....Kelly Rowland " Marys got the sames size hands as Marylin Monroe, she out her fingers in the imprints at Manns Chinese Theatre Show" la la la...you can imagine! There were closing the road off for "The Rock's" new film. Now the main highlight was when we saw a new Star being laid on the Walk of Fame, so Amanda jumped in and helped them lay it, the man let her and we took a photo. She took away a souvenir as she was then covered in TAR! We passed Jessica Simpsons house, the county court where OJ Simpson was trialed and the police station where Mel Gibson was taken. Also we saw a hotel that Cameron Diaz owns and saw Arnold Schwarzneggers office as he is mayor of California. This place is awesome! We love it.
6th Sept - This was the best day by far....Universal Studios and it was out of this world. The best thing was that it was out of season so we went on everything at leats twice!!!! We cannot describe
the time and effort put into that place. It was being used for filming that day for CSI, and desperate housewives...yes we saw Wysteria Lane...more like "Hysteria" for Amanda when she knew she would be seeing it. We saw Jaws set, The famous "Bates hotel" from Alfreds "Psycho" and the house. Jurassic park, many studios and many western film sets. The studio tour made the day and the tour guide was hilarious. Words cannot describe the fun that we had. The rides were like no others....the Jurassic park was like you were in the film with an 80 ft drop at the end with a Taranasaurus Rex about to eat you before hand, you then plunged into water, we got soaked and yes we sat at the front everytime, but so hot in the 80's! The Mummy Ride was even better with an in the dark shit your pants rollercoaster, which Steve made us go on four times! The whole experiance at the park goes as far as water shotting out in front of your faces on 4d cinema attractions and things that come out at your feet to make you actually wet yourself. The main heart attack attraction was
the Van Helsing walk through horror horror house. Dead people come out and chase you and Amanda actually cried and begged them to stop. Steve obviously ran ahead and left her.....all in it for himself hey! But really we were so scared we came out sweating and it took us an hour to recover. Amanda had a water fight with some guy and got drenched which Steve found extremely funny. There was a finale show called Waterworld with pyrotechnics and huge stunts. It has won number one attraction for 10 years...we couldnt believe our eyes.
These our only our first few days and we are having the time of our lives and just to think we have so much more to do.
Although we have feared for our lives most nights as we are staying in the ghetto/hood! We were told Downtown LA was bad...but thats safe, we went on recommendations...thanks Chris! we have heard fights, our hotel owner is a known schizophrenic and we were told by a tour guide to get out as soon as we can as three months ago someone was murdered outside. Apart from that that the room is huge, clean...just not safe. But
Jaws
Yummy we are leaving today and we still both have all limbs in tack!
Today we made a trip to the laundrette and we gave the lady 50 p and she thought christmas had come early. So fresh clothes for Fiji. 5 star here we come!!! We will write again as soon as we can. We love you all, keep the messages coming xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
