Nearly On Our Way

Hi All,



Joy and I are getting ready to head off on another overseas 'adventure'. A much shorter one this time, around 3 weeks.



I am just trying out the 'blog site' again as it is 2 and a half years since we last posted one on our 8 week trip through the States, Europe, Middle East and Hong Kong and I just want to check that things still work and that people get emails advising them of the blog posting.

If you receive an email advising the blog has been posted we would love to hear from you at [e-mail] just to confirm to us that the system is working. If you do get an email and don't want to follow the blogs then send me an email and I'll remove your address from the list.



WE leave Auckland around midnight on 28th June on Hawaiian Airlines bound for Honolulu where we have a 5 hours stop over before boarding another of their aircraft bound for JFK airport in New York City. We will be spending close to a week staying at the 'Yotel' near Times Square and Joy has a lot of activities already booked or planned including a 30 minute helicopter flight over NYC on her birthday (30th June) and a Hudson River cruise on the evening of 4th July to watch the iconic 'Macy's Fireworks'.

After NYC we pick up a rental car and head to Watkins Glen in upstate NY where were are really looking to catching up and staying again with Albert and Judy Pearce. We stayed with them for 3 days on our last trip and had planned to meet up in Hawaii again but that didn't quite work out so we decided to go and see them again. Hopefully we can catch up with Becky and also Ted and Nicki and the kids while we are there for almost a week.

After that we drive back to NYC and fly from JFK to Honolulu for almost a week of sightseeing and R&R. We have booked a Mustang convertible for the week so that should be fun!!

We arrive back in Auckland on 19 July, pick up our car and drive home on the 20th.



Lots planned for the 3 weeks, as you would expect from us, but I'll post another blog nearer the time with full details.



In the meantime, time is going really fast so with less than 2 months to go final planning is in full swing.



Don't forget to send us an email if you get a notification just so we know that things still work and also if you get a notification email but don't one to get them in the future send us an email and I will remove you from the list.
