Absolutely beautiful day. Started off with a short trip to Nelson where we stopped to look at their Saturday morning markets. Then we took the beautiful drive to Picton along the Queen Charlotte Drive. Breathtaking scenery. we had an interesting drive as there was a cyclist race going in the opposite direction to us. We saw all types attempting the hills. We think there was about 500 riders that we passed. Arrived at Picton around 12.00 noon. Have had a lovely afternoon walking around checking out the town.
Tonight we had a nostalgic dinner (for me). We went and had a seafood platter. Mum and I had stayed in picton 9 years ago to the day as we had gone out for dinner for her birthday and had her favourite dish on a seafood platter - crayfish. We tried to find the same little restaurant that we had gone to but unfortunately it had closed down some years ago.
