The new way to get to the check in line: go to the short term car parking area, check in at the tent, and wait for your flight number to be called before you can go to the check in lines inside!
Yep, I am one of the lucky ones who had plans to fly out of Heathrow the day after the arrests took place. I got to London on the 10th from Amsterdam, and had two days in London to get my things organized for my next trip.

I decided that I needed at least 3 hours to check in for my flight and another hour to get to the airport. Nope. From the moment I got to the airport, it took me a grand total of five hours to get on my plane! Yep. I was standing in the security line for an hour and a half when my plane was supposed to take off. Once I made it through the security line, I ran to my gate only to find that my flight hadn't even boarded yet! Whew! It was nuts at Heathrow, but the workers there were amazing; calm, cool and even cracking some smiles here and there. I was completely shocked that any flights actually took off with how long the lines were, but I'm happy that mine did.

Where was I flying to you ask . . . oh, you have to wait for the
