So. Think Cerberus- minus two heads and picture the dog that is sitting opposite me glaring at me with blood red eyes. I hoped it was dead but it just twitched. Someone has wrapped a load of tape around its neck to plug an open wound but it's covered in plenty more sores and scabs.

So far this is this best friend I've made in Bangkok. People are awful friendly but i realised last night you have to be selective or risk ending up being bored for two hours by a nut job banging on about her lithium prescription.

Anyways, so far so safe and sound. After a turbulent start (24 hour sickness bug the night before my flight- now I know why it's a good idea to pack in advance) and a couple of uncomfortable flights I arrived last night and have done little but recuperate since. Hostel is clean and well equipped ( and has a really relaxed policy on dogs using the facilities). Ventured out as far as Kho San Road twice. Bit like the strip in Magaluf but with people selling fried scorpions and the like. Risked my first food in 60 odd hours- got straight involved with some pad thai from a street vendor- yet to see what my tummy makes of it, the other occupants of my dorm are playing a special kind of lottery tonight.

Tomorrow I'll leave the relative familiarity of the immediate area and do some stuff.

Happy Birthday
Hope you are feeling well enough for egg sandwiches and cake. We all got the bug in my house Charlie has gone back to school but the rest of us are ill in bed. Think we caught it off arsenal last week :(
