The Costanera Norte
On a beautiful sunny day it's a pleasure to walk along the coastal road. It was a glorious day today so we decided to take a walk out to the Costanera Norte. That involved strolling through the beautiful Palermo Parks then negotiating the busy pedestrian-unfriendly roads around the domestic airport.
We managed to go onto the fisherman's pier but couldn't go to the end as that's for members only. I thought about going through the open gate at the side, and even though it would have been acceptable to say I didn't understand the "No Entry" sign it would have been difficult to explain why I climbed over the rope to get through anyway!
It always amazes us when we see people fishing in this part of the river which looks quite polluted. We've never seen anyone catch anything anyway. Today, however, we did see a fisherman catch something. We got there just as he was dragging the remnents of a tree out of the River Plate with his line. His mates were laughing at him and I felt that capturing the moment on my camera may result in me having to dislodge a fish hook from my face when I got home! Some others had better luck as we did see some
Fish-less Fishermen
As far as we could see, nobody in this shot caught anything at all. We may be wrong, and their good ladies had already been along to collect their catch so it could be ready served by the time hubby got home, but we doubt it somehow! quite huge fish near some of the rods. Maybe some enterprising fishmonger came along and sold them so the poor blokes were not going home empty handed, or maybe they were the fruits of a day's labour.
