We have stayed the last two nights with friends at their beautiful home (we sleep in the guest house) on an island near Yarmouth, Maine.
It's been a heavenly two days: toured the Casco Bay in our friends' boat, walked around the island preserve, visited the shops in Portland, and just enjoyed being with our friends. What a gorgeous part of the world this is! We've been pampered here and it's going to be hard to leave tomorrow!

Aren't friends to visit wonderful?
Always adds to any trip to have special folks to see along the way. Looks like they live the high life!! Hope all he Natl Parks closing does not present a problem on your trip. When we went to Grant's Tomb in NYC they were on the cut back last spring and we could not get into see the tomb unless we wanted to wait for two hours. We did not. Our government is a MESS right now. NO one cares about anything but their own job and their own party. I am so disgusted I don't even want to hear about them anymore. How much longer is your trip and where is the final "jumping off point"?
