Bonjour from France

Nice:

Our whirlwind overnight at Nice allowed us enough time to walk around the city centre, major squares, piazza, and beach, taking in the ambiance of the popular holiday destination.

The biggest change so far is adjusting to the French language, not Italian anymore!

Lyon:

We've enjoyed a little longer stay in Lyon, walking the city centre, squares, piazza, crossing over the river on two of the magnificent bridges. Our Lyon at night tour was beautiful and gave us the opportunity see a large portion of Lyon from the open-air double decker bus late at night, with a commentary of the history of this beautiful city which sits at the junction of two major French rivers. On our arrival at 5.00pm, there was a strong hot wind blowing, so by late evening, the bus tour was a welcome reprieve.

Sunday morning, and we've enjoyed a stroll along the river's edge taking in the large Sunday markets and a coffee at a sidewalk cafe under the beautiful old trees.

Catching up
Hi Helen and Les, Have just caught up with your travel blog. Great idea. So many of your experiences Peter and I can identify with - especially the bus trip to Positano!! Great photos too, I recognise lots of the places as well. We just loved Italy and the Cote d'azure especially Nice. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. Cheers.
