Different kinds of tea
Today has been slightly rough. I skipped breakfast to get some extra sleep only to be woken up by my teacher calling my room phone. I was having dreams of thrift shopping in Malibu with nick and i did not want to wake up. After i rolled out of bed we went to a tea history class. Our translator was Mona, one of the girls who was in my group yesterday. She is very interested in opening up her own tea house. She struggled with some of the bug words but i think she did an awesome job. They spoke of advancing the wuyi tea culture and what the school is doing to bring back the tea culture. They talked about the importance of refining the spirit and implications of the wuyi tea ceremony. Wuyishan is the original center of Oolong and black tea, dahongpao, shuixian, and rougui. Wuyi university is pushing the collection, settling, and protection of wuyi rock tea. The wuyishan government is carrying out a "low carbon tea industry" and "environmental protection, high quality, and low carbon". The government is also encouraging farmers to be organic and pollution free cultivation. Wuyi has achieved a cleaner production of tea with yield up to 95%. I have always enjoyed tea and now i am more curious to know about health benefits and the process of tea cultivation. Tonight after thuy's lecture we are going to a tea ceremony. The tea textbook they gave me is in chinese.. Hopefully i can find some books in english!

On our way back from class it starting pissing rain. And i mean the biggest raindrops i have ever seen! We got drenched 😞 my only clean and dry clothes, drenched! We had left our window open and we got back to room all of my clothes we sitting in a pile of water 😞 there is no such thing as a dryer for miles around, so im hoping some of it will dry by the time we leave for hangzhou. The humidity is thick so i doubt it will. Mt only sneakers are drenched too.. Maybe this could be an excuse to go buy some new pants and shoes.. Well off to class again.. I have a 15 minute walk in the rain.. Where did the nice weather go?
