HI Friends, In town for the Book club. It has been windy today and last night. Whipping the snow around like sand and forming snow dunes. I feel pretty still. My cat misses me, Amanda tells me. She is a neighbor and friend who watches after him. Ajahn has a cat as well. HIs name is Shadow, and he is black. Esco has a dog. His name is Anook. It is a Brittany Spaniel and very hyperactive! He likes to junp all over me😊 Shawn is still on his Silent retreat (49 days total). And I am still cooking, cleaning, filling up buckets of water, lighting fires, etc. I usually start the day getting up around 6:30 and finish between 1 and 2 pm. I will shop on Thursday when I have to bring Ajahn in for a Board meeting. All in all things are going well. I am writing, and enjoying the woods and snow and quiet. THings are simple, yet complex. I still feel torn in some ways about what to do next. So I try to be present. I know I have duties like cat and dog and my lovely friends in Knoxville and family all over. So we shall see what opportunites arise. I will leave you with some poetry.



Waves of Ocean Stillness

Emotions are like waves,

Ocean waves

You can't stop them.

Best to just ride them out

fading, returning,

Stillness

They come , they go

Can you see them coming?

you certainly see

them going



Fire Within

Burn like the Fire!

Keep feeding it

Burn, brighter and brighter

Melt like the Snow

Afternoon sun

With ease, melting, melting

Stand like the Rock

Affixed to the ground

Earth moving, round and round

Wind aflame moving

Blows away thought

Forever you will Be.

Sky melts with Fire

breathing Air

Earthly realms vanish

leaving you there,

where?

Consciousness is Awareness (for Esco)

What is Awareness?

Where does it coem from?

How did it get there?

Who has it?

Can is be had?

Can it be lost?

in death?

in Life?

If you are consciously aware

you are aware of consciousness
