Well, not much to report really. We're playing the waiting game, and it seems that the best way to play the waiting game is to drink copius amounts of rum buckets at night, sleep till 1pm in the arvo then do it all again.
We've taught the bar staff at the place we're staying at how to play the drinking game 'bridges' (Mont loves it) and also Gin Rummy and Spoons. The Thai are mad gamblers and are trying to take us for all our money (which isn;t much as the 3 ATMs on the island are all out of service, and as we no longer have VISA, it's the only way for us to pay for anything.) But we're thinking that the public phones took 4 days to come back on line, so perhaps the same will go for the ATMs.
No fear, where we are staying is just letting us rack up a massive tab until money comes online then we can pay them back. Consequently when gambling with them we end up gambling for cans of coke which they then try to swap 2 coke cans on our tab for a bottle of beer instead. Nutters. I'm sure we got rorted on the Thai Poker match - can't say we really knew the rules. Andrew caught on though and won back the coke cans while I read my book and slept in a deck chair.
But we're making good friends with them and will go out dancing with Tay every second night to the one and only Cd the entire island owns and every single restaurant and bar wil play it continuously. I'm starting to really love Shakira.... no,... really.
So not much else to add. We'll probably be a bit quiet over the next couple of days till something else exciting happens.
