Arrived in Cambodia, lunch time of the 6th February. We were picked up at the airport by the hotel (Borei Angkor) and settled in. We were up at 4am to get here so the afternoon was spent by the pool, relaxing and taking in the sun we had not seen is a few days. The hotel staff could not be more friendly and helpful, there english was so much better than those in Bangkok. After a short stint by the pool we headed to happy hour and our introduction to "Sokmen" the bar tender. Hard to put into words but he has a character like no other, similar to 'gangnam style'. Always happy to see you, and after the first night remembered both our names. We will get a photo with him later and you will understand what I mean by character.

On Thursday we met your driver 'Bros' for the time we will be here. He took us to a few temples, the first being Ta Prohm and then onto Bayon, Angkor Thom. Bros gave us the history of each site and then left us to explore, the heat here is horrendous and we only managed to stay out

Notice no highrises
for about 4 hours before returning to the hotel and the pool area. The current temperature is about 36deg with 97% humidity, makes it very difficult to get around these sites with thousands of others. That night our driver took us to a local restaurant (The Touich) down a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, absolutely fantastic and cheap...

This morning we headed to Angkor Wat for the sunrise, unfortunately it was quite cloudy so the view wasn't as good as it could be, but we still had he commentary of 'Bros'. We quickly went back to the hotel for a breakfast and then returned to Angkor Wat for a look around before the heat of the day settled. The photos say it all. Now back at the hotel for another relaxing afternoon before BBQ seafood dinner at the Hotel restaurant.
