Hi all

Have had a very relaxing few days. Yesterday was our first full day in Ko Pha Ngan and still suffering slightly from jet lag we decided to have a chiled out day. Decided to have a traditional Thai massage at the resort we are staying at and believe me there was nothing relaxing about this, very painful as they use hands, feet, elbows etc to need and push all your pressure points. Felt more like torture than a massage but my body did feel a lot better afer so there must be some good in it. Spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool. It is gorgeous as set right on the beach over looking the sea, it is soooo hot so spent most the time in the pool as evertime I got out and laid down after 10 mins had to get back in the water again. I'm not complaining though I just need to acclimatise! In the evening we wandered into the town centre which is abit like a mini Ibiza or Cofu, very aimed at young tourists with loads of places to eat and drink. They do these buckets for about 2 quid which are filled with alcohol of all different varieties - very lethal. We met up with Nadine (friend of Daniels) who is working at a dive school on the north of the island and a friend of hers (think he was called Ben) we then went for dinner and then went down to the beach which was fantastic. There are loads of bars on the beach and everyone is just sitting around chilling out and relaxing and there is all different music and fire dancers to watch. We stayed there until about 3am as you totally lose track of time and then wandered back to the hotel. Up earlish today as had booked on a boat trip. Not sure if this was a good idea after last night but we were okay. The boats are Longboats which are like giant canoes and have a massive engine and long rudder. A lot of the island you can only get round by boat as mainly rainforest and jungle and only a few roads. The boat took us to some stunning beaches where we snorkelled and swam, they then dish up lunch (rice again - as eaten with all dishes) and then off to a waterfall which was quite impressive. We then came back along the island and stopped at another small beach area (picture the beaches in films like The Beach and Lost) where we swam some more and then it was back to the main area. It is beautiful around here and we shall spend most of the time exploring. Daniel is booked on a dive on Wednesday at the National Marine Park, so I am going along too as I can snorkel and sunbath on the boat. Every full moon the island holds a Full Moon Party (obvious name!) and about 20,000 people come to the island to party along the beach with top DJ's, it goes on until the early hours. Unfortunately we will miss this as the next one is in August, however we are enjoying the island being quite quiet and peaceful at the moment. Sunburn has gone and now tanning slowly and nicely. Daniel has managed to cut his foot already! No suprises there and he wonders why I refuse to get a scooter and ride on the back. As I am sure you can all imagine it is not just a cut but some terrible infection (according to him) personally I think it's just a cut but there you go. Anyway off out to dinner now. Pictures did not upload last time so will try again now.

Take care
