Well we decided we would only stay in Tonsai Bay the one night as although it was beautiful and a climbers paradise, the tours were all quite expensive and there wasnt anything to do there other than climb or sunbathe.. which I wouldnt have minded but paying 10 pound each per night accomodation when your on a budget just to sunbathe isnt very wise haha.
So yesterday morning we woke up and popped to the internet cafe to see if we could find any accomodation on the next beach along called Ao Nang. There are a lot more tours and you can find much cheaper accomodation but still have the lovely beach and mountain scenery everywhere so we decided this would be the best place to go. Couldnt really find much accomodation online so decided to just go there and see what we could find.
While at the internet cafe I backed up my pictures onto my USB and was horrified after to find that there was absolutely nothing on there. I was so upset thinking we had lost all of our pictures and ended up storming all the way back to our bungalow and wallowing in self pity.
Luckily on a different computer Sean managed to get them all back but there is definitely something up with it! Everytime I put it into a computer the whole thing freezes and wont work until I take it out so Im really worried that it wont work when I come home and will have no pictures to show you all 😞 Fingers crossed its ok though!
Anyway after that drama, we made our way down to the beach front (which looked even more incredible than the day before as it had been cloudy but yesterday the sun was shining off the rocks and I tried to take some pictures but they really dont do it justice!). You have to pay 100 baht per person for a ride on a longtail boat to the next beach but you have to wait for 8 people to be going. Sean and I were the first there going to Ao Nang so we got comfy for a long wait. Luckily, 5 minutes later, a guy turned up who needed to be at Phuket airport in a few hours and said he would pay for 6 people if we just paid for ourselves.. RESULT.
SO we got on and trundled around to Ao Nang.
Its a LOT bigger than Tonsai, TOnsai doesnt even have roads where as here has big main roads and a LOT more buildings, but we were quite glad as it least it would mean we would hopefully be able to find a hostel quickly. It was absolutely BOILING yesterday and we were hating lugging our bags around so when we came to the first hostel we were eager to get in and find out how much.
The man ushered us in really quickly and showed us the room saying it was 300!! It was really nice and clean and theres a shared bathroom but thats fine as there was only one other room sharing it with us. We accepted it quickly and went to pay up and I gave him the 300 and went back to the room... 2 minutes later he came back in asking for ANOTHER 300! Apparently he had meant it was 300 each but he must have missed to say that part haha. Still a LOT cheaper than tonsai and so we just headed out to the beach.
Spent the afternoon sunbathing and
exploring the beach.. and to my horror at the other end of the beach we came across some wild monkeys! dun dun daaaah. Luckily they all seemed happy enough and a few babies were playing on peoples arms and stuff but I hung back and just watched from a safe distance as there were a lot of big males looking like they would run at me! Oh and also when we were at Tonsai there were gibbons and monkeys everywhere! And at night there were no street lights and you had to walk through the most pitch black lane where alllll of the mokeys were and you could just see loads of eyes glowing in the light!! I HATED IT! Oh and there were the biggest spiders youve ever seen on webs about 3 meters across hanging just above your head so it wasnt a very pleast experience trying to find your way home after dinner! hahaha!
Anyway after sunbathing a bit more, I was so boiling hot that I decided to run into the sea to cool off, the tide had gone out quite a way and so I had to run quite far into the water before it was deep enough to dive in..... Just as it had got to the right depth I dived in and instantly felt the worst stinging pain on my arm ever! It felt like I had fallen into a bush of stinging nettles times 100! I jumped up and the pain was still there and flet like something was clinging to my arm, I flicked whatever it was back into the water and ran back over to the beach where Sean was and told him and then we noticed loads of stingy bumps on my arm wrapping around it nearly all the way! A thai lady came over and noticed I was holding my arm and saw the bumps and said she would help me, so she went away and came back with a bottle of vinegar and dabbed it all over the stings 😊 The stinging didnt last too long after that but it was a bit scary!
Anyway we headed back to the hostel, had a shower etc and went out for some food. Sean couldnt eat all of his as he felt sick so we went back to the room for a bit to see if he would feel better with a bit of rest. He said he did so we went and bought a bit of drink and sat on our balcony and then all of a sudden he got out aplastic bag and said he was going to be sick! ... Now this is really mean of me and most people will think Im a really bad girlfriend for it.. but I am so scared when people get sick! I dont know why but my instant reaction is to just run away as fast as I can... so I did! Whoopsie! I felt bad though so after a minute I went back and found him bent over the bag still being sick 😞 not good.
needless to say we didnt go out last night and we both had the worst nights sleep ever. I did because I was scared he was going to get sick and he did because he felt sick 😞 He hasnt been sick again though and took lots of medicine last night to make him better so hopefully its done the trick!
Anyway I came here to get a bit of air from our room and try to wake up after just 2 hours sleep last night ... yawwwnn. But shall update you again soon. Oh and I will definitely try to put some piccies up tonight! I keep meaning to but the computers are so painfully slow! grr!

You ran away when he was being sick!? That is HILARIOUS!! You are really lucky that there was some vinegar on the beach otherwise the only other way to stop the stinging is to wee on the sting! Now if you don't like watching Sean being sick you are hardly going to be able to watch him peeing on your arm! ha ha ah aha I never made it to the places you are at but it all sounds amazing and is really making me want to go travelling now! We have just booked our first trip since coming back from Dubai which is to Monte Carlo in early April to watch the tennis tournament there. Can't belieeve it has been 6 months now and I haven't been near an airport - weird but nice! It's supposed to snow this weekend. But this morning I woke up excited to see the snow, but its just raining :( Helen has started a part-time job working in the Hand in Hand so she is there today. I'm going to view a house then going for a swim - all sounds so exciting doesn't it!! Anyway, if I were you I would stay longer out there - at least until March when the weather will be better!
