Day 14 Sleeping in the boot night
We were at a petrol station in the night and when we had filled up Dad, Joe and Ben made me a bed in the boot. I’ll tell you how they made it. They put the biggest suitcases underneath, then they put the surf boards on top and then they put a blue roll up mat on the surfboards and then they put a pillow where my head was going to go then a sleeping bag on top. Then they put the petrol can on top of the roof to make space. Then we were off to go.

I fell asleep very quickly because I was very tired. I slept all night in the boot while Mum and Dad stopped and started with their two hours each.

When it was morning they saw a funny picture in the sand but I didn’t because I was asleep.

We drove through the middle of the desert and Mum and Dad saw the town called Arica and then we saw the tower called Escorpios where it was a hotel that we were going to stay in. It was the special hotel that we always go to when we have a trip to Chile. It’s right on the beach. I was awake by then.

Mum and Ben went to see the man to see which apartment we would have. We unpacked the car and I had an orange and stuffed it in Joe’s face because he hates oranges! We came up to the 11th floor where our apartment is and it was very nice. We had a lovely view of the sea.

We went down to a little restaurant to have brunch. I had an ice cream and a banana milk shake. Ben had a big burger. So did Dad and Mum. Joe was sleeping. After Dad had his big burger he took me to the park which was just by us. It was an exercise park. It was a good park but there was an even better one by us that was even bigger.

We went down to the beach had a little paddle in the sea. Then we went back up to the apartment and took Joe his brunch sandwich.

That is everything I can remember.

Love Nady

Sleeping in the boot
Hi Nady - I'm so glad you told us how they made your bed - when I saw the picture of you in your special bed before, I was wondering how they made it! Very clever, and it looked very cosy. Enjoy the beach! Love from Auntie Julie (the Oates variety) xx
