They say once you're out of Texas, you are half way to where you are going...........so we are almost there. We've seen more oil pumps, cottonfields, windmills and long-horn cattle than in any of our travels. We had a wonderful visit with Tom's son, Mike and our daughter-in-law, Donna. No surprise that Mike enjoys the smokin'/grillin' thing like his Dad. He grilled a wonderful dinner for us in his "Green Egg." Tom would go buy one, for sure, if we could travel with it. We spent the weekend doing what many families do-- FOOTBALL! Amazing to find all four of us loving football!
I have a picture of the campground we stayed at in Dallas below. Let's just say it isn't our usual venue. It will take us three more weeks to get out of Texas. The weather turned cold so we had to change plans and take a southern route to Arizona so as to avoid snow and ice traveling through Flagstaff.
Two more notes: 1) This is the first blog I've written since our beloved little beagle departed while we were in Lake Texoma Thousand Trails. Tom and I find ourselves talking to ferrel cats, horses and
even the cattle. 2) The long-horns; however, are not particularly interested in conversation with migrating snowbirds (as picture shows.) Enjoy the beautiful Fall weather and thank you for reading our blog!

3 weeks to get out of Texas
Hi Karen and Tom, Love to see the pictures of your travels. It is nice to see that some part of the family is NOT over rated. HA HA! I never heard of a Green Egg before and now I know what it is. The chicken looks like it was really tasty cooked on it. Happy and Safe Travels, May God Bless Joannie
