Day seven
Final day in Hawaii. Went for a two hour swim in the morning. The water is amazing. The temperature even at 8am is amazing. I need to live near a beach like this. Showered and packed and checked out by midday. Excursion to shopping mall to purchase Lego for flat mate. He's of the opinion that certain types of Lego are investment pieces. I bought the smallest item of the four items he told me he wanted. It is huge and heavy and I'm betting it won't fit in my suitcase. I'm not in a good mood. Wish I had said no. Did a candy run at Walmart, as no supermarkets in Waikiki where you can buy bulk anything. Also got a can of pumpkin pie mix - hopefully this will be more successful than last year's attempt. Trip started at the cheesecake factory. Decided to end it there as well. Ordered the smallest steak on the menu and it was huge. Americans must learn portion control. Between my steak and my salad it took up the entire table. Lucky I wasn't dining with anyone, otherwise could have been awkward. I am pleased to say I have not had anything fried since I've been here. I'd almost like to think I list weight. As Geoff so kindly reminded me, my old friend Hard Mike has been conspicuously absent from this trip. Had a last sunset with him hanging out on the pool deck. Might be awhile until we catch up again. Frozen yoghurt, then battle of the Lego, before catching shuttle to airport. Good holiday despite getting sick. I think a week was a good amount of time. Going home to plan my emigration to a warmer climate 😊
