We started out to find a small sandwich shop in the Santa Croce area. We had the name
of a piazza but it was not on any of our maps. After 30 minutes of wandering around
feeling lost we stumbled upon it and it was worth the search. After looking at the map
we found we were closer to our apartment than to the Santa Croce church.
Later that afternoon we decided on a bus ride to an overlook of Florence on the other
side of the Arno river. We ended up on the right bus going the wrong direction on
a long route. By the time we got back to the correct place it was getting dark so
we skipped getting off and the bus ride got a lot longer before turning around and
getting back to town. Al together we were on the bus 2 hours and 15 minutes and
did not make it back to the place we got on. So I learned how to read the Florence
bus route map today. Also there are no pictures today.
Some friends from Minnesota arrived this evening and we are off to Rome for 3 nights
on Monday.

Roman Holiday.
Your Ranger visitors tell me they climbed 'the dumps' as kids, so I expect them to be happy scaling the heights of Rome with you. Have fun. My picture of Rome is to see all the enchanting sights that Audrey Hepburn visited in the movie Roman Holiday.
