Outside our hotel!
We made it to our first destination without even so much as a delayed flight so lets hope this keeps us in good steed for the next 5 months. Either that or we used up all our luck getting here.

We arrived at our hotel feeling fairly fresh after a solid 7 hour snooze on the flight, ate and then went to bed.

Yesterday we walked round our area which is a mixture of lovely hotels, slums and 7-11 shops. It's proving to be a bit of a culture shock especially for Craig eho hasn't experienced life like this before.

In the evening we travelled across town in a taxi to meet Polly who we both know from St Andrews who just so happened to be in Bangkok when we were. We had a few (too many) beers and Craig decided he was definately brave/drunk enough to experience a tuk tuk ride.Unfortunately the one we chose had an extreme exhast problem and I was sure we would die of carbon monoxide poisoning either that or Craig would get his head swipped off by passing traffic. Needless to say he fully embraced the ride of his lifeand for only 50p!

We plan to head North to Chang Mai tomorrow probably on a nightbus. We are already dreading the idea of packing up our bags again but as nice as Bangkok is it will be nice to leave the humidity behind and maybe even experience some fresh air...!

Until next time...
