Scirocco
An early 05:30 flight from Athens to Santorini saw us exploring Thira before formal check-in. The Scirocco is down quite a ways from street level on the cliff (Caldera) and I'm grateful our unit is in the top half of the complex; not a disability or small child friendly environment.

The weather cotinues to be very hot, can't recall seeing a cloud since Kiev. No sign of any afternoon thunderstorm but the cool sea breeze really springs up immediately the sun disappears.

The apartment and location is simple amazing, most other places have some foreground distraction; the view here is really in your face - a real kickback/relax place.

Couldn't get Lesia to try a mule ride or the fish that nibble your toes; got her on a scooter though. We toured the island for a day seeing all the sights; Lesia not impressed - with the Island yes, my driving no. I don't understand the problem we only had one minor off-road excursion. Visitied Red beach/black beach etc. - water inviting but the sand was so gravel like that people were wearing special shoes to traverse; - the pool back at the apartment looked more appealing despite

all those steps.

Opted out of the archaeological site of Akrotiri. figured we kicked enough rocks in Athens and will do more in Rhodes/Turkey; and as far as Sunset tours go I can't see them bettering the view we already enjoy. The crowd would indicate that the Sunset at Oia is the best where the sun sets over the water of the Aegean. Caught the local bus (packed) to Oia and joined the throng, the crunch on the return journey was not for the fient hearthed; remarkably Lesia musceled her way onto the bus and when I finally managed to get on, she had secured seats.

Cruise ships come and go daily - sometimes 5 at a time in the bay or crater (not sure what you call it) with tender boats , cable cars and mules ferrying passengers to and from the shops, restruants/bars on the cliff top of Thira.

There is something exciting about living in an apartment clinging to the cliff face of a volcano - I wonder what the insurance premiums are like; no rumblings yet; leaving soon on an overnight ferry to Rhodes.
