I have been inspired by my friend Renika and her partner Andrew to write a blog while we are away. I first was introduced to their blogs while they were in Thailand a couple of years ago and then again recently when they travelled in Turkey. I really enjoyed reading about their adventures as sat at my desk in wintery Melbourne.
A blog seems a great way to capture fresh observations about a trip and make them immediately available to family and friends. So this is a test post to see if I can 'drive' this thing!
Over the next 6 weeks or so Dave and I will post our observations about our trip to Spain.
We arrive in Barcelona on the 29th August and then train it up to Gerona on the 2nd September where we embark on a 7 day bike riding tour of the Costa Brava and Catalonia...
On the 9th we drive up through Figures to Cadaques to have a bit of intensive "Dali time"! Then it's a flight down to Granada on the 12th for a few days seeing the sights and soaking up a bit o' history!
Then we drive to Juviles in the Sierra Nevada range for a full 7 days livin' the rural life in a little white house we have hired from a Scottish writer....and then we hit the road again for a drive across the south-west to Seville via Ronda.
A few days in Seville followed by a stop-off in Cordoba and then onto Madrid for an urban experience and Prado immersion and then a flight back to Barcelona for a couple more lazy days before we return to Melbs on 5th October. 39 days away all up!
Not entirely sure how often we will blog (as I don't think we will have internet access in Juviles) but if you sign up to updates we promise to let you know what we've been up to! I am sure that Phoenix the Street Artist might make an appearance or two as well along the way!
