The Journey Begins...

So here it was after two long years of planning and preparation, the moment we had been waiting for was here. The very long day began with an emotional drop off at Heathrow to a tedious plane journey where three people (including Annie) decided to sleep on me whilst I was trying to watch films and complete space invaders. She soon woke up when she smelt the food coming!

The wait in immigration was fun and we almost encountered the first hunger tantrum off Annie, she didn’t enjoy queuing anymore and my constant poking obviously wasn’t helping matters, so I carried on…

When we had finally passed through the airport we made our way towards our hostel for the next five days which is where I find myself writing this blog after a long 27 hour day, on a hard mattress, sharing the room with two German girls, in bunk beds…. I think we’re both glad this is the only hostel experience; but hey free beers in the night can’t do any harm!! And don’t forget the breakfast that’s going to be devoured in the morning and unlimited coffee all day to keep us pumped up with energy and

It took an hour and a half to get through passport control!!
carrying on with our journey.

We had our first taste of deep fried chicken and fries and boy it was good! We got chatting with a friendly guy and his daughter from Sacramento but his family were originally from Wales! Small world 😊

We’re buying a sim card in the morning so will send a few texts out then with our new number.

There are few pictures from today but there will be far more tomorrow as we’ll actually be half conscious and willing to strike a pose!

Hope everyone is okay and you’re not still crying or missing us (*cough cough*, Paula!)

Ciao for now, from San Francisco
