Xian

On 1st April we travelled by night train to Xian - a fun time. Arrived in Xian to see all the sights, may favourite being the White Goose Pagola, which is the founding centre of budhism to China. A serene place - I LOVED IT. Saw the terracotta warriors which were amazing. Xian a great city ( a million times better than Beijing).

White Goose Pagola
The Pagola is 9 stories high - quite pronounced in the city skyline. The figure in the picture is the founding monk who travelled to India and then back to China - i forget his name.

about the monk
The monk is very famous in China,we call him Tang Sheng,Tang means the time he lived,sheng in chinese means monk,in the famous novel--"XiYouJi",Journey to the West/Adventures of Monkey King in english, he went to india with his 3 friends and one white horse,all had magic power.almost all our chinese know well about the story. - Roid
